Established in 1983, DHHSF is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization devoted to serving the hard-of-hearing children and adults in Pasco, Hernando, Hillsborough, and Pinellas Counties. A variety of support services and equipment are made available through our programs and distribution locations.  DHHSF collaborates and partners with multiple agencies located in the surrounding areas to provide a holistic approach to an individual’s needs ensuring a better and healthy life, education, self-esteem, and vocational success.

The center, located in New Port Richey, is a distribution site for Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) providing specialized telephone equipment to the deaf and hard of hearing.  The equipment is on a long-term loan, for free, to Florida residents, 3 years or older with a qualified hearing loss.  Satellite distribution sites in Zephyrhills, Dade City, Spring Hill, Brooksville, and Palm Harbor allow DHHSF to meet the needs of the neighboring communities.

Other services available to the hard of hearing are American Sign Language Classes (ASL), Signing for Everyday Living (SFEL), Vocational Rehabilitation/Employment Services, Advocacy, Free Hearing Screening, and more.  For more information on any of our programs, use the menu bar or search tab to locate the program
