Tamara Taylor is a mental health professional dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities through compassionate, culturally responsive care. She is passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where clients feel seen, heard, and valued as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward healing and growth.
Tamara currently serves as a Deaf Service Specialist with Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of Florida (DHHSFL), supporting individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. She provides counseling and crisis support through a trauma-informed, client-centered approach. Tamara focuses on bridging gaps in accessible mental health services while providing culturally competent care, advocacy, and support for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.Â
Tamara earned her Master of Social Work and has built her professional experience in counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and community-based support. She is committed to empowering individuals with the tools, education, and support needed to build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with confidence. Her work is guided by a belief in equity and access, and in the importance of meeting clients where they are.
Outside of her professional role, Tamara values balance, joy, and connection. She enjoys spending time at the beach, practicing self-care, dancing, and listening to music. Known for her warm spirit and positive energy, she values kindness, encouragement, and meaningful connection in both her personal life and her work.
